Show Cause vs. COVID-19: Oregon Food Bank

When the COVID-19 pandemic has forced many businesses to shut their doors, the Oregon Food Bank has launched an aggressive effort to ensure those who need food can access it with safety and dignity. We are proud to offer support and give back through our Show Cause program.

Rain BDM team member and graphic designer Michele Mielcarz, a resident of Portland, talked about the Oregon Food Bank and their service to the community. “Since 1988, the food bank has done an amazing job of providing food and fresh produce to those experiencing food insecurity. With so many people out of work in the Portland area, they continue to ensure there is food on the table for those people.”

Demonstrating its mission and unity through the #emergestronger tag, the Oregon Food Bank has created programs for children whose primary access to food may have been through school programs, homebound and immunocompromised seniors, and local residents struggling with poverty and loss of income. Through monetary donations, the non-profit meets the evolving needs of those struggling with hunger and will continue to serve the community throughout this crisis.  For more information about the organization and ways you can help, please visit www.oregonfoodbank.org.

Show Cause is Rain BDM’s social outreach program to support people and groups doing good work in the areas where we live and work, and we are tailoring our focus to organizations helping communities during the coronavirus outbreak.  Each member of our team has selected an organization making a difference in their local community.
