Show Cause: Feeding Our Chicago Neighbors In Need

When the world’s problems seem overwhelming, determining where and how to help can be downright paralyzing. Where do we begin? Start locally.
About 47 million people in the U.S. faced food insecurity in 2024. That means they don’t have enough money to consistently buy food or know where they will get their next meal. That’s where Common Pantry comes in and steps up.
For 58 years, Common Pantry has served its north-side of Chicago community as a non-profit food pantry. In 2023, they opened a commercial facility offering emergency food assistance, housing information, government benefits, health care and legal referrals, and services for homeless people, in addition to providing people with food. Talk about wraparound assistance.
“I Am Your Neighbor”
Rain has supported Common Pantry’s annual “I Am Your Neighbor” fundraising event since 2019, when our own Dave Argentar introduced us to their life-supporting work in his Chicago neighborhood. This year’s October 3rd event was their most highly attended yet, exceeding their fundraising goal.
We are proud to Show Cause for an organization that has spent more than half a century supporting its community with the most fundamental care. Our monthly community involvement initiative consistently reminds us that when we feel helpless in a crazy world, assisting fellow humans makes a difference.
