This December, we continued our annual tradition of offering clients and close F.O.R.s (friends of Rain) a list of six incredible organizations—a mini gift catalog of good deeds, you might say. Each recipient could choose the organization that most resonates with them, and based on their choices, we then made donations in their honor.

Here are the organizations we spotlighted this year:
Everytown for Gun Safety is a movement of nearly 10 million mayors, teachers, survivors, gun owners, students, and everyday Americans who work together to make our communities safer. Using evidence-based solutions, Everytown seeks to end gun violence and save lives through education, support, and action.
Feeding America provides billions of meals each year to people in need. They also support programs to prevent food waste and improve food security, bring attention to social and systemic barriers contributing to food insecurity, and advocate for legislation to protect people from hunger.
Habitat for Humanity envisions a world where everyone has a decent place to live. They work toward that vision by building strength, stability, and self-reliance in partnership with families needing affordable housing who help build their own homes alongside volunteers.
Leader Dogs for the Blind empowers people who are blind or visually impaired with lifelong skills for safe and independent daily travel. Leader Dog’s range of services includes guide dog programs, orientation and mobility (white cane) training, and teen summer camps—at no charge to its clients.
The National Park Foundation is the official nonprofit partner of the U.S. National Park Service, connecting people to nature and protecting America’s most iconic and historic places for present and future generations. Our parks tell the story of our country in all its beauty and imperfection.
World Central Kitchen is first to the frontlines, providing fresh meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. A thoughtful, freshly prepared meal is one less thing someone has to worry about in the wake of a disaster. It’s a reminder that someone is thinking about you and someone cares.
It feels good to give a great gift and even better to give one that makes an impact.
