Lucky 13: Rain Celebrates a Milestone Anniversary

Today marks Rain BDM’s 13th birthday and the beginning of a nearly two-week-long celebration. Why 13, you ask?

Sure, we could have celebrated our 10th anniversary in 2020, but a global epidemic harshed our buzz. 2021 wasn’t much better, frankly, and in 2022, we got distracted with cool, new client projects and expanding our team. Because we do things a bit differently here at Rain, a 13th birthday celebration seemed especially fitting for us.

How Far We’ve Come

Roughly 4,750 days ago, including three Leap Year days, John Reed launched Rain as a one-person show. As we grew to our current team of 18, we’ve worked with lawyers and law firms in 25 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and eight other countries, with practices ranging from admiralty to zoning.

Despite all the changes, we’ve remained true to our core beliefs and the philosophy that every lawyer can achieve a financially successful and personally fulfilling law practice by cultivating trusting relationships. We’ve forged an exceptional brand and value proposition within the legal community and distinguished ourselves from other consultants and providers in the legal marketing space. We are distinctly Rain.

Entering Our Teenage Years

Many things pleasantly surprised us over the years, especially during our tweens, but perhaps none more than the closely-knit, I-got-your-back culture that is unique for a completely virtual team. Our crew works remotely from 11 states, utilizing various technologies to communicate, collaborate, and converse, making room for creativity and fun whenever possible.

And we continue to evolve. We keep pace with (and sometimes get ahead of) the business of law. We strengthen our team and broaden our services by bringing on the right people with the right skills at the right time. Our clients constantly challenge us, and we are better and more innovative because of it.

Get Ready for 13 Days of Rain

Just how are we celebrating our anniversary? Rather than a single day, the forecast is actually thirteen days of Rain. Over the next fortnight, on our blog and social networks, we’ll tell stories about our history, our name, and our people, and we’ll launch and re-launch a few signature Rain ideas, too.
